GOD NEED US HERE
Quote:
Do more than belonging to the success, participate in it.
Do more than caring for. Help! And do more than forgiving. Forget!
Luke 10:33-35; Joshua 14:10-13
The following massage was originally written by Bishop John L. Fonzer Jnr. Of Elijah Institute of Ministry, USA. Though I have changed the title and edited some points the massage with the aims of throwing light into the very point that I want to make in this episode.
God Need Us Here!
I’ll Get That For You!
Gal. 6:1-2 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
As it pertains to someone’s spirituality, we must assume responsibility to assure it—if we can. There is no way we can live in this world in isolation without caring for others and still maintain a perfect relationship with God who sacrificed His only begotten Son in order to serve the world.
If at all possible, we should expend and exhaust ourselves for the good of another’s spirituality. How can we get them back on track? Jesus died for all and we’ve got to bring this massage to every soul He made this sacrifice for.
The objective is to restore someone back to their first place in God. As it was before sin entered the Garden of Eden.
The spirit to work under this circumstance is the spirit of meekness.
Bearing one another’s burdens is what God requires from us all and that is why we are here.
The questions are: Can I help? How can I help? I know whoever read this today has an answer to this question. You may not be in the frontline as some do, but can support those who gave themselves to fulfill this mandate. Praying for them on daily bases, send them massages of encouragement. Look around you, there are things you are not using again because you don’t have need of them. You can also send them to the field. Others will be glad to have them.
Spiritual people are sensitive people and the environment they live in.
Spiritual people are not critical people. They see good things in every other people they meet. They praise others for their little effort.
Spiritual people are not boastful about their personal achievement in life. They only pride themselves in the joy of seeing people’s lives change for good.
Which Commandment?
John 13:34-36 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
Peter was always trying to go into the great spiritual yonder. Remember, he suggested to Jesus that three tabernacles should be build where he and his company will be away from relating with others. – Matt. 17:4
Saints are always wanting to go and be with Jesus. Hush! That is not spiritual talk. Really, it is a copout and an early exit to avoid pain or responsibility.
Spiritual talk is the talk of obedience and service to God, not trying to leave here to be with him in the land of no toil and no pain. God needs us here and now. Yes, God needs us here and now. Though there are some who seems to have arrived in this life, they have already build their tabernacles and are not ready to reach out to others in need of this same salvation massage given them by grace.
Love is not a feeling; else it would be a noun in this text. It is an action.
Jesus commanded us to not only love, but to love and act as He did.
Wait for your turn to go where Jesus goes. But before this, do what Jesus did before he was glorified.
And if you really want to follow Jesus, accept the whole course—Calvary for others and all!
The traits and manner of love are seen in the fruits that we bear on daily bases.
Your spirituality/carnality is manifested in your talk of sin and sinners. Truly spiritual people are not entertained or occupied with the failures of other.
Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Your faith can fail; and when it does, sin is the result.
People have faith issues. Bear their burdens by adding your faith to theirs.
He had not failed, but he was obviously not converted.
Peter felt that the spiritual thing was to follow Jesus.
Jesus felt that the spiritual thing was to move in the grace that was extended to Peter.
Gal. 5:19-23 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law
The mark of a believer and a carnal believer are seen in the fruit and works they manifest.
The fruit of the spirit is not manifested in how we respond to God in praying, but in how we respond to one another and what we do with other people.
The works of the flesh are almost all things we do with/to other people.
The fruits of the spirit, too, are almost all relationship oriented. All told, our spirituality is measured by our relationships.
The world is not converted by how we respond to God, but to them—as trying and difficult as they are.
The fruits of the spirit are calculated actions/responses to one another.
The glory God gets is made manifest through the work done by His people on earth. It is the converts sinners through our work of faith. It is not our prayer and fasting that convinces them of the reality of God, but our actions under pressure, our willingness to repair and restore the fallen, and how saints learn to treat sinners.
Rom. 15:1-2 – We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Restore one’s foothold and dignity by inconveniencing yourself and sacrificing your image to enhance someone else’s image.
Every confrontation and approach is meant for the good of others.
Take yourself out of the picture. In the past we have been so fearful of developing a bad reputation that we have not descended low enough to save the lost.
Don’t possess yourself with getting to Heaven, but rather to fulfill the law of God on earth: the law of loving as He loved. Work on getting others to heaven too when the time to go really comes.
Ask yourself:
How can you build up another?
How can you assure their success?
Be part of success, not failure.
Become a part of the problem to become part of the solution
You have to forget your personal image, if you are ever going to bear burdens that you did not make. Jesus did. He became sin that we might become the righteousness of God.
You have to sacrifice your comfort and convenience
Know that God will pay you well for it
That is the mark of a truly spiritual, love-filled believer.
